Dr. Kazuki Ueki graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. He then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship in San Diego, California where he developed a solid foundation to help sick and injured pets. He continued along that path by moving to the Pacific Northwest to complete additional training in emergency and critical care medicine at Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital. He spent the next 5 years working at Northwest Veterinary Specialists (along with Dr. Cassioli and Dr. Veatch) taking excellent care of challenging cases while working alongside many of the specialists.
Dr. Ueki joined Fremont Veterinary Clinic in 2019 and has thoroughly enjoyed focusing on wellness and getting to know all our patients and their families while also being there if something urgent arises. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and pretending to be a ceramicist. He also enjoys traveling with his husband both locally and internationally.
Dr. Ueki is also currently serving on the board of directors of the Portland Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) as the chair of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. He hopes to help make the veterinary care more accessible to the Portland community.
