“It has been my privilege to be able to get to know my clients and be with them as their pets grow from babies to seniors and in many cases to repeat the process again as their families grow and change.”
Dr. Johnson graduated with honors from Veterinary School at Washington State University in 1996. She has been at Fremont Veterinary Clinic ever since. She lives with her husband, 2 sons, 3 cats, 1 dog and a variety of fish.
Her emphasis in working with clients is preventative care: ” I want them to know what is normal for their pet so that they can pick up changes early and address them before they become major problems. I do a lot of general health screens for older pets and go over clinical signs to watch for as pets age.”
Very much concerned about the quality of life of pets and their people, Dr. Johnson also stresses pet behavior and training for both dogs and cats. An important part of puppy and kitten exams includes discussing normal behaviors and how to prevent abnormal ones from developing.
“This was actually my very first choice of all the clinics where I interviewed. Fremont Veterinary Clinic has state of the art equipment and being located in Portland we have access to a number of qualified specialists as well as after hour critical care near by. This allows us to practice medicine with really no limitations.”
