Poisonous Plants Harmful to Dogs & Cats

10 Plants Highly Toxic to Pets

  1. Azalea
  2. Rhododendron
  3. Sago Palm
  4. Cyclamen
  5. Kalanchoe
  6. Autumn Crocus
  7. Foxglove
  8. Lily
  9. Amanita Mushrooms
  10. Yew

Lilies are highly toxic to cats!  Flowers from this family, including Easter, stargazer, tiger, day, rubrum, and Japanese show are very toxic.  Contact with even a petal or leaf can cause kidney failure within 72 hours.  Keep lilies out of homes with cats.

Cocoa mulch can be hazardous to dogs if consumed in sufficient quantities.

Marijuana can make your pet very sick.  Keep marijuana and edibles such as brownies away from pets and store i pet-proof containers.  Seek veterinary care if your pet ingests marijuana.

Symptoms of Plant Poisoning include:

  • Drooling
  • Diarrhea
  • Lethargy
  • Seizures
  • Unconsciousness
  • Irritation to skin or mouth
  • Vomiting
